Over 22 years of providing the Gift of Education!

As an organization, BPW Durham has for over 22 years, supported women needing financial support as they achieve their educational goals. We no longer have bingo funding, which for years was our main source of revenue for our Bursary Program, and which was used to provide yearly bursaries to Durham students in need. These students are so appreciative of “Our Gift of Education”.

With this in mind, we need to replenish the bursary account so that we can continue our tradition of supporting women attending college or university. Therefore, we are asking for you to consider donating an amount comfortable for you to the BPW Durham Bursary.

Our Bursary Fund was established with a Mandate to:

  • Support a Durham woman with focus but lacking resources to establish herself in the business and professional community, be it through education, training or support.

In the past, the Bursary has provided women financial assistance to:

  • Obtain post-secondary degrees diplomas, and/or certification,
  • Obtain work readiness skills enabling them to leave social assistance and gain financial independence.

We also fund scholarships and bursaries administered by Durham College, UOIT, and TriOS College. Students are recommended to the BPW Bursary Fund after they have exhausted all other avenues of funding. Our Bursary provides emergency funds to assist the student to continue her post- secondary education.
